My friend got a PS3 last week and he got Killzone 3 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit instead of Last of Us even though I kept telling him to get that first because I'm willing to vouch for how good it is even though I have no idea what the game is. HE IS AN UNBELIEVER.

Omg the feels at the end of the opening sequence. I'm the kind of person who laughs at scary movies, but this game is so amazingly awesome that I have anxiety playing it and tiny little noises start to freak me out. Honestly between this and skyrim I don't think I will need any more games for a very long time.

SERIOULY. At the point in the basement of the hotel with all the screechers, I had to put the game down for a month because I was getting too much anxiety from it.

A friend of mine who plays a lot of PC MMORPG's said he wants to get a console and was asking me and another guy if he should get a PS3/4 or Xbox. We both said PS and cited this game as one of the main reasons (though I don't know if they make it for Xbox as well, I've always been a PS person). He didn't believe us so we showed him the whole opening sequence on YouTube. Now he believes us. BTW, someone strung together all of the movie scenes and put it on YouTube.

On my fifth playthrough right now and it's still fantastic, The Last of Us is just on a completely different level of storytelling: I actually hid the game's box after my first playthrough so I didn't see it and bring back all the memories and emotions of the story. I was still thinking about it months after I finished it, it was that emotionally devastating. And the ending... I've never been so upset and so bothered by any work of fiction but it was the perfect way to end such a game. Sorry for the rant but seriously, man, incredible game. Just incredible. The Left Behind DLC was just as great.
